Copper Dog Creative Cafe was birthed in January 2008 as a result of a dream shared by an RN, her supportive Marine husband and a hand surgeon. The vision is to provide a place for folks from all walks of life to recharge and relax in a creative, warm and friendly atmosphere; a place to share peace, love and joy through the avenue of art. Our commitment to our customers is to encourage all who walk through the door to relax and reconnect with a child-like freedom to their innate creative potential.

Copper Dog opened its doors to provide a safe, fun environment to nurture and celebrate the right brain gifts that often lie unopened because of today's demands for productivity and performance as measure of a person's success in this world. This contemporary "make it and take it" art studio provides a venue for people of all ages to create a one of a kind art piece that is as unique and special as each person that enters our studio. We all grow, change and evolve on our life journey. This studio provides an opportunity to share that journey with others and a permanent record through art media of each individual's spirit at a specific point in time. Return again and watch the evolution of yourself or someone you love through time as you share in the journey of life.

After watching my wife struggle through the last few years of nursing due to illness I felt it was time for her to make a career move. We have always been enthusiastic about entrepreneurship and starting our own business. In my mind there was only one decision left to be made; what type of business? I have sat back and witnessed the God-given artistic talent that Bobbi possesses. I also know that Bobbi has a heart for people. Bringing these two passions together, and with support from our dear friend Melinda, we stretched the canvas for what has become Copper Dog Creative Café. It is a place where time stands still and fun begins……….ordinary individuals creating extraordinary works of art.

Copper Dog is a culmination of faith, hope, new beginnings and friendships. I believe the future is made brighter with each investment we make into helping one another reach our full potential. As a hand surgeon I have been given many opportunities to appreciate and encourage people to believe and reach for dreams, and Bobbi and Gene have allowed me to be a part of their dream. Until recently I questioned whether there was more to life than achieving goals and reaching milestones. Contentment remained illusive and temporal in my life at best until Bobbi shared her faith with me. That gift has made a difference both professionally and personally. My life will never be the same! The peace and joy that has filled my heart since I allowed Christ into my life is greater than I ever dreamed.

The store is a celebration of creativity and new beginnings, an opportunity to pass on the good news that life is a journey that is enriched by relationships and our day to day interactions with the people around us. Our hope is to provide a positive, fun environment that nurtures the creative spirit present in all of us. My hope is it will be a place to share, laugh, play and make memories for a lifetime.
